The Podcast Host Launches Free Online Event for Independent Podcasters
As an independent podcaster, do you ever feel like the industry caters a lot more to the already-established podcasters than it does to indie creators like you?
While the barrier to entry is low in podcasting, there’s no denying that the industry operates in a way that favors the big names and mid-levellers over the independent podcast creators.
This is why, back in November, The Podcast Host launched a census with independent podcasters. The aim of the Indypod Census was to hear directly from independent creators like you to learn more about your podcasting experiences, challenges, and ambitions for the future with your show.
We’ve been totally overwhelmed by the response we received to the census so far. Almost one thousand of you have already shared your thoughts with us – and the responses are still rolling in (follow this link to have your say).
Which got us thinking: maybe the census doesn’t go far enough. Maybe, what independent creators like you need is a live event environment exclusively for you where you can debate the question “What’s next for us?”
So, we’re launching a free online event that offers exactly that: the Indypod Summit.
What Is The Indypod Summit?
The IndyPod Summit is a free online event exclusively for independent podcasters. For one day only (February 2nd 2023 at 15.00 GMT), you’ll be able to join podcast industry experts, coaches and fellow ‘indypodders’ to network, share ideas and debate the future of the industry.
There will also be a series of hot-topic-focussed workshop discussions and guest speakers, including Elsie Escobar (She Podcasts, Libsyn), Arielle Nissenblatt (Head of Community and Content at Squadcast.fm), and Jeremy Enns (Podcast Marketing Academy), amongst others.
The keynote speech will also be delivered by our very own Colin Gray, who will share the main highlights of the Indypod census results for the very first time.

Odile Beniflah (Head of US for Ausha) will be talking to us about ‘Navigating Podcast Ecosystems’.
Joe Casabona (Podcast coach) will be providing a workshop on ‘How to Launch a Mini Podcast’.
Colin Gray (CEO and Founder, The Podcast Host and Alitu) will be delivering the results of this year’s Indypod Census and what the main trends tell us about how the independent podcasting landscape is shaping up.
