We bought the Snowball Ice for a conference room and realize it wont work because it is not omni directional. Can you recommend a good USB mic for a conference room? My goal is to string 2 or 3 together from the same computer. Will that work? any advice helps. Thanks,

Hi Adam, not at all. With USB mics though they need to run into a computer rather than a digital recorder. To use 2 at the same time, check out this guide https://www.thepodcasthost.com/equipment/microphones/can-you-record-with-2-usb-microphones/

New user here with very little tech experience. Very sorry if my question is stupid. If I have two Snowballs what can I plug them into? Couldn’t find a digital recorder with USB outlet

Hi Craig. You can record two or more people locally by using the Snowball’s omni pattern yes. Having experimented with this before, I didn’t personally feel that the audio quality was very good though. I’d say that if you already have a Snowball then go for it and don’t let it stop you getting started – you can upgrade further down the line. If you don’t have a mic yet though it all depends on your budget. For a one USB mic solution then the Yeti will offer a better level of audio quality with its bidirectional pattern, but it’ll cost a bit more. If you have 2 different types of USB mic you may be able to get them both working at once, see here https://www.thepodcasthost.com/equipment/can-you-record-with-2-usb-microphones/

For an over the desk podcast, would you recommend two mics, bearing in mind the option of Snowball and it’s omnidirectonal pattern?
