I wanted to suggest the Monoprice 600800 condenser mic. It is priced comparable to the 990, but is a far superior mic. In my opinion, it’s ridiculously well priced, and the best sounding condenser you can buy without spending hundreds more. I’ve used both extensively.

One of my favorite mics to use for podcasting and recording on the go is the Samson Go Mic. which runs about 42 in the UK. I get great results from mine. And with an OTG adapter, you can use it in tandem with your cell phone to record on the go.

I’d ideally like some directions on best quality for podcast microphones for under £50. You’re entry level mics are too expensive.

Quick question… I bought a Blue Ice Snowball microphone before finding this post. How does it stack up? Will it suffice to get started or should I find better equipment?

Hi Nishant, the Yeti can be sensitive to background noises yeah. Were you using it on its “cardioid” setting? Nevertheless, the ATR2100 or Samson Q2U sound like much better options for you https://www.thepodcasthost.com/equipment/samson-q2u-podcasting-review/

I stumbled upon this great article and decided to go with Blue Yeti but it turned out bad! I do voice-overs for YouTube videos from my living room and Yeti began to pick all sorts of background noises. I had to return it back to Amazon.

I guess I should go for a dynamic mic as I can not create a studio set up from my home. Is there and good dynamic usb mic within my budget (~USD200)?

I use Audio-Technica AT2020 (https://microphonetopgear.com/best-microphones-for-podcasting/#audio-technica-at2020) for 2 years already and haven’t found drawbacks of it. It’s designed for acoustic recording of studio-level on a standard PC. For communication with the computer, there is a USB output. The design of the microphone is used a capacitor with a pre-polarization and a certain charge.

I learnt a lot from this article. I am looking to buy myself a microphone for ASMR. I am making a separate youtube channel so that I can make ASMR channel. I was looking at some websites providing info about asmr mics and the best I found for my needs was the Blue Yeti Pro. I came to know about Blue Yeti from this website. What do you suggest? Is my choice all right or I need to consider something else? I will be making simple ASMR videos like simple object triggers, tapping etc.
